story line
MW1: You are chasing after Imran Zakhaev, an Ultranationalist who is selling old Soviet nukes to people like Khaled Al-Asad (who used one during the events of "Shock and Awe"). He wants to bring Russia back to its Soviet Union glory days.
Your team captures Al-Asad, and discover Zakhaev to still be alive. Because he is in hiding, you chase after his son, Viktor. He commits suicide, but his death brings his father out of hiding, to capture a Russian nuke site.
MW2: General Shepherd was in command of the Marine force that was decimated by Al-Asad's bomb. He believes the world was indifferent to the loss, and hatches a plan to make the US a superpower once again, with himself as Supreme Commander.
He sends your character (PFC Allen) to infiltrate the Russian Ultranationalists (now under Makarov's command), but Shepherd secretly breaks your cover as Borodin. Makarov shoots you dead so others can tie your American body to the airport shooting, giving Russia a reason to invade the US.
Your character (Pvt Ramirez) returns to America with Sgt Foley during the Russian invasion. The Russians have so far been successful because most of the American forces were already deployed abroad. Russia has air superiority until Capt Price uses a nuclear missile to EMP the area.
Shepherd also uses Task Force 141 (Soap, Price, and crew) to help his plan along until the deception is uncovered. Your character (Sanderson) and others are killed by Shadow Company, but Soap, Price and Nikolai are able to escape and get revenge on Shepherd for the betrayal.
